Wodka is a product that has been out for a while now, and you just have to love their campaign!
With the influx of Poles in the UK, and the expansion of Europe, Polish Vodka Wodka has become a new item in UK’s shopping baskets. This has to be the best alcohol campaign I have seen in a while.
Still on the topic of alcohol consumption, I recently discovered another official anti-binge drinking campaign ad. You may remember that I was recently invited to the launch of the new Home Office’s anti- binge drinking campaign produced by ad agency VCCP. Although a little too long in my liking, the Scottish version is also effective at showing the effects of binge drinking…

decent enough site, actually made me stick around for longer than 30 seconds, but i think that was down to it actually loading in a decent amount of time more than anything else, nice and accessible.
regarding the video - the problem is with these ridiculous adverts the government keeps releasing about binge drinking - you don’t remember or care about them when you’re drunk or when indeed on the way to getting drunk. They should stop pushing the ‘it’s not cool to be a binge drinker’ message, who said it isn’t? the government, some video on youtube? not interested i’m afraid. If they want to use the social media to push a message, get people who have experienced first hand the pain of serious drinking to do it, AA blogers, or people who have incurred serious injury whilst drunk. give them the tools and knowledge to spread a message and people will listen, I know I would. It’s a real persons voice people want, not videos that just try to quell and opposite message that we see in mainstream media every day, 24/7 - that is, drinking is cool.
And if they want to quell such a deeply entrenched part of british society, they need to step up tougher laws. Which they won’t because they know that if tomorrow we had a sober Britian, people might begin to realise how shit the government is, and start doing something about it…whoops i went all Marxist again!
Richard - you did go a bit Marxist, but we love you for it;) Check this poster out:

Yup - you did go a little Marxist here
I think you’re a little too harsh with the Wodka website… I personally really like it.
I do agree with you that the ads won’t stop binge drinking… I had a heavy night on Saturday and I did feel a little ashamed for drinking too much (luckily I didn’t do anything embarrassing) and I kept thinking about the ads this morning… so I guess they did an impact on me and my behaviour.
This Scottish ad has popped up a few times in the last week. I think it’s really nice, and the fact that it was a girl really made me chuckle, not think but chuckle. It’s very like the prodigy video – definitely some influence there.
At times however, I feel that the creative overshadows the message, and this is natural, when the message is hard to deliver, and to a certain extent this is a criticism of some of the binge work… I have thought - ‘ok, nice visual work, funny and a bit shocking’ but that feeling has gone already.
